SHORT TRIPS

If you have never visited the town of Leavenworth, Washington, you are missing an adventure.

Leavenworth is nestled in the Cascade Mountains about 135 miles East of Seattle. It is a Bavarian themed town with every kind of gift shop, wine tasting room and restaurant you would ever want to see. Alan and I had the pleasure of visiting there last Friday evening and had such a good time roaming around in the shops and eating a marvelous German meal. As is common in the Northwest, it was pouring down rain with thunder and lightening, but it did not hinder our activities or our pleasure at being there.

We attended the Pacific Northwest District of Kiwanis International’s convention in Wenatchee, WA. just a few miles east of Leavenworth. It is always so good to meet up with old friends and make new ones at these conventions. We learned a lot about what is happening with the organization in the Northwest and how we are impacting the children of our area. We are doing a tremendous job of providing financial support and activities and positive recognition for these children and young adults. I must say, I am very proud to have been a Kiwanian for 31 years and will continue to do all I can to support the organization and my local club.

I am continuing the writing process every day. The one I am working on now is not coming quite as easily a the others did, but I will figure it out. What i need to do now is figure out titles for the four books that are complete, but untitled.
