I am having Carpel Tunnel surgery in the morning on my right hand. Since I am right handed, I will be laid up for a few days. It is fairly simple surgery and not a painful recovery. I had the surgery on my left hand in June, so pretty much know what to expect. I just don’t like the idea of not being able to use my right hand for a couple of days.
My husband and I spent a few days in August in a small town in Central Washington called Wenatchee. Wenatchee is considered the apple capital of the world. We were at a district Kiwanis Convention and had a wonderful time reconnecting with old friends and making new friends. We also learned a lot about our Kiwanis organization in the Pacific Northwest.
On the Friday evening we were there, we had a chance to take a bus to Leavenworth, Washington. Leavenworth is a small town nestled in the Cascade mountains and is a Bavarian themed town. It is a beautiful area and we had fun roaming into all of the wonderful shops, winery’s and had a terrific Bavarian meal. Even though it poured down rain, we had a marvelous time.
On the way home from Wenatchee, we stopped at another small town called Cashmere. Cashmere is famous for making the candy Applets’ and Cotlets. The retail store there has samples and boy is it fun to taste all the different flavors that are used.
If you have never had the opportunity to visit Central Washington, you are missing a great place to vacation. It is a truly beautiful area of our state.
I am very excited about the movie trailer being made and the screen play being written on my book Journey to the Pacific, One Man’s Quest. Even the possibility of it being made into a film or TV show is quite an honor. I find the idea a little daunting, but am trying to enjoy every minute of this new career I have made for myself.
I hope every one had a safe Labor Day Weekend. Please remember that school is starting and the school busses will be out on the road picking up and dropping off children. In some of the rural areas where there are no sidewalks, it can be dangerous for the kids. Please drive safe and sane and obey the rules of the road and watch for the lights on the busses. All of our children are the future of this country. We do not want anything to happen to them.
