Conventions and Family all in one trip.

My husband and I were fortunate to be able to attend the Kiwanis International Convention in Denver, Co. over the 4th of July weekend. What a great time we had. The ability to connect with fellow Kiwanians from all over the world is invaluable. We learned so much from the classes we took and are eager to implement some of the ideas in our local club.

The Keynote speaker at the convention was Diana Nyad. She is a marathon swimmer and swam from Cuba to Key West Florida when she was in her 60’s. After many attempts and failures, she finally made it. She was an inspiration to listen to and really proved that you can reach your goals if you Never Give Up!

After leaving Denver, we flew to New Orleans, rented a car and drove to McComb, Mississippi to visit our son, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters and 7 week old great-granddaughter. What a joy it was to be with them and to get to know our littlest member of the family.

Within the next month, the sequel to Journey to the Pacific will be out. Also, the revised edition of Life and Love Continue will be out soon. I am very excited to see them in print.

It is always good to go on the trips, but very good to get home.
