I come from a large matriarchal family. There were 5 generations of women alive when I was born. When I turned 80 years old, I realized that I was the last person in my generation still alive. My Great-Grandmother told me fascinating stories about her youth growing up in Eastern Washington with her parents, sisters and brother. If I did not write these stories down, no one else would know them. I wanted my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to know their heritage. So I started writing Life and Love Continue.
My second book is a novel loosely based on my relatives, but with different scenarios. The title is “Journey to the Pacific, One Man’s Quest.”
The top picture is Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach, Oregon. It is my favorite place to visit. For many years when I was young, that is where we vacationed.
The picture below is Mount Rainier in Washington. When I step out of my front door and walk to the middle of the street and look East on a clear day, that is what I see.

If you are at all interested in community service and working with children, check out your local Kiwanis Club. Kiwanis is an international service organization dedicated to serving the children of the world, one child at a time. They work in schools from elementary to college, and have programs for the developmentally disabled. I have been involved in my local Kiwanis club since the 1980’s and have enjoyed every minute of it. I have made life long friends and gained so much from my association with my club, The Kiwanis Club of Parkland-Spanaway in Tacoma, WA.
